Big Blokes Shed

Boundy's Campsite

The ‘Blokes Big Shed’ houses a multitude of pioneering memorabilia. This shed was constructed with assistance from Mudgeeraba Rotary Club and Gold Coast City Council. We have Col and Clarice Boundy's “Home Sweet Home” campsite set up at one end of the shed. This is a replica of a Gold Coast Hinterland pioneers home. Col and Clarice donated the campsite to the Museum when they retired from taking the campsite to schools, shopping centers, etc. as an educational tool.

Butchers Shop

Nothing is wasted in this butcher shop; grab some offal or pound of sausages to cook in the camp oven.

The latest additions to the shed are a Butcher's Shop and a General Store, with new exhibits arriving to add to the electric displays.

The General Store

The general store replicates Mudgeeraba General Store, drop in for some soap flakes, a pound of sugar and a quart of kerosene to light your night.

Tools

This shed is a bloke's heaven, and is full of tools and items of interest to make any bloke happy. Displayed in the shed are many hand tools and implements used by the Hinterland pioneers.

The latest addition to the shed is a buckboard belonging to the pioneering Hardy family from Springbrook. Come and check it out.

The diorama of old Mudgeeraba has been moved to the the Blokes Shed from the Railway Station platform. This diorama shows not only the old railway line and station, but some of the older shops in Mudgeeraba.
